canoe Day one - Kayaking skills

The day starts with a flat water session to introduce or improve on skills required for Grade II white water paddling. In the afternoon the group will be introduced to river features and hazards that we find on moving water. The river trip will be 3 miles on a gentle GradeI/II section of the river Wye. The day will be spent making you comfortable and confident on the river, using personel skills and group river running techniques. The focus is on safety and making you feel confident and in control.

You will get the chance to experience surfing a small river wave, improve ferry gliding and tune up your river reading and boat control skills. The aim is to make you more confident in moving water and give you a set of kayaking techniques to practice. This course will give you a greater understanding of Grade I/ II river skills.
